Hip / Thigh Patient Education
The hip and thigh must support the entire weight of the body during most daily activities. As such they are often involved in degenerative joint diseases such as arthritis and musculoskeletal disease which can cause hip pain or thigh pain. With ever increasing athletic activites the hip is also frequently involved in sports injuries.
For patients facing end stage arthritis the latest advances in joint replacement surgery can restore and improve function including improved range of motion, mobility and decreased pain. Minimally invasive techniques are now available to allow patients to have pain free everyday activities like walking, tennis, gardening, golf and playing with children.
